Meeting Notes Template

About these templates

meetingnotestemplate.com is a free collection of meeting notes, minutes and agenda templates. Every template comes with a filled-in example, so you can see what good notes look like before you write your own.

How the templates are made

Each template starts from how that meeting actually runs: what gets decided, who needs to read the notes afterwards and what tends to go wrong. Questions people ask in workplace, volunteer and parent communities shaped the sections, for example how to take notes when you are not allowed to record, or how to tell whether last week's action items were really done.

The organizations and people in the examples (Fernhill Studio, Harbor & Pine Dental, the Riverside Community Garden committee and others) are fictional samples. Any resemblance to a real organization is a coincidence.

Formal minutes

Boards, HOAs, corporations, LLCs and other formal bodies follow their own bylaws, operating agreements and state rules. The templates here follow common practice, but they are not legal advice. When the record matters legally, check your governing documents or ask a professional.

Using the templates

Everything here is free to copy, adapt and share, including inside your company. No sign-up. The copy button keeps headings, lists and tables when you paste into Google Docs, Word or Notion. You can also download each template as a Word file or as Markdown.
