Printable meeting minutes template

A printable meeting minutes template should fit on one page and only ask for what matters later: date, place and who attended, last meeting's action items, each topic with what was decided, new action items with who does what by when, and the next meeting date. Print it, write the topics in before the meeting, fill in outcomes by hand, and type or photograph it the same day so everyone gets a copy.

Questions people ask

What is the easiest way to take meeting minutes by hand?
Write the agenda topics into the form before the meeting, then write only the outcome of each one: what was decided, or who brings it back. Leave out who said what. Ten lines of outcomes are more useful than four pages nobody can read a week later. How to write meeting minutes covers the rest, from what to leave out to how soon to send them.
Are handwritten meeting minutes acceptable?
Many clubs and volunteer groups keep handwritten minutes in a binder, and that works if they're legible, dated and approved the way your group normally approves minutes. If you're a board or an incorporated organization, your bylaws and state rules decide what is required, and this page is not legal advice.
Is paper or a laptop better for taking minutes?
Paper is quieter, keeps you looking at people and works anywhere. A laptop is faster to share. If you use paper, type it up or photograph it the same day, because your handwriting only gets harder to read as the week goes on.
